CAN A CHRISTIAN FALL FROM GRACE?

Galatians 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

CAN A CHRISTIAN FALL FROM GRACE?

First what does fall from grace mean, it does not mean lose of salvation. Many verses in the Bible give assurance that when we are saved, we will not loose our salvation.

Our position before God is that we are justified by the death burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Galatians 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

When we received Jesus as our savior, we are baptized in the Holy Spirit of God. The water baptism is a testimony to what we have done. The water baptism does not save us. We are saved because we have confessed our sinfulness to God and when we have done that He promise to forgive our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteous. Roman 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. The righteousness of God is a gift that He gives us when we received Jesus as our savior. We have put on Christ and there is nothing we can do to make our righteousness better than what God has done for us freely. Jesus was, is and always will be perfect and we are in Him.

HOW CAN A CHRISTIAN FALL FROM GRACE?

The Galatians where being deceived into being circumcised to make their righteous standing before God more perfect. Since they were putting themselves back under the law of works to please God they would fall from grace. When we try to do anything in our works regardless of what it is to improve our standing before God that is when we fall from grace. Therefore Jesus power in you will become of no effect. This does mean they lose their salvation but it does mean Jesus will quit working in their lives.

If you have found yourselves powerless to overcome the sins and shortcoming you are dealing with, it is because you are trying to please God by your performance.
What you need to do is return back to trusting the Lord Jesus to give you victory over the shortcomings in your life. Believe in Jesus confess your needs to Him and wait on Him to conquer the needs in your life. Paul says stand fast in the liberty where Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage (trying to please God in our own strength).

Not every prayer is always answer instantly, sometimes they are, but many times they are not. That is why the bible in many verses say, wait on the Lord. A beautiful verse: Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Return to Jesus and believe in Him, it is by Gods grace that we are saved nothing we can do ourselves. When we trust Jesus to create in us that which is good. we will always win just wait and see.

By The Way, Praise Him While You Wait.
